European diplomats arrived at Iran’s consulate in Istanbul on Friday morning for negotiations with the Iranian delegation, headed by Majid Takht-Ravanchi and Kazem Gharibabadi, deputy foreign ministers of Iran.

Referring to the upcoming talks between Iran and the three European countries, Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi stated that Iran's effort will be to examine what common solutions can be found to manage the current situation.

The talks which are held at the deputy foreign minister level, mark the second round of discussions between Iran and the three European states in Istanbul.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson earlier confirmed the meeting, emphasizing that it will focus on sanctions removal and nuclear-related issues.

“The difference this time,” the spokesperson said, “is that we will clearly state our positions.”

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi reaffirmed Tehran’s commitment to uranium enrichment on Thursday afternoon, stating “The world must know we will continue to firmly defend the Iranian people’s right to peaceful nuclear energy, especially uranium enrichment”.
