Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi held a meeting with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon during a visit to Dushanbe on Wednesday.
Highlighting the close bonds and the mutual understanding between the two nations, Araqchi said Iran is resolved to expand relations with Tajikistan in all fields of mutual interest.
Iran is determined to tap into the valuable commonalities to deepen and strengthen its relations with Tajikistan in the economic, trade, diplomatic, cultural and educational spheres, he stated.
For his part, Rahmon said his country’s ties with Iran are special and based on deep-rooted friendship.
He also called for the promotion of bilateral relations.
The two officials further weighed plans for the expansion of relations and also discussed the latest regional developments, as in the Caucasus, the Central Asia, Afghanistan, and the West Asia.
