Mass Protests Erupt in Tel Aviv As Demonstrators Clash with Police over Gaza War

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Tens of thousands of Israeli demonstrators flooded Tel Aviv’s streets late Saturday, blocking the main Ayalon Highway and setting fires in a show of anger over prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s obstruction of ceasefire and prisoner exchange negotiations.

According to the Palestinian Information Center, the protests were triggered by the regime’s renewed push to prolong its military occupation of Gaza and by its refusal to agree to a truce that could end months of bloodshed.

Protesters demanded an immediate halt to the war and the return of Israeli captives from Gaza.

The rallies escalated into physical confrontations as police forces, including mounted units, moved to disperse crowds and prevent further road blockades in central Tel Aviv.

Hebrew media sources estimated that more than 60,000 people joined the demonstrations, calling for an urgent agreement to end the fighting and exchange prisoners.

In a separate development, Israeli outlets reported that armed right-wing activists threatened anti-government demonstrators in the city.

Local reports also said a group of protesters stormed the studios of Channel 13 during a live broadcast, demanding an immediate end to the Gaza war.
