Power Outages, Explosions Escalate across Occupied Palestine after Minister’s Remarks

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Unusual incidents including electricity cuts, explosions, and fires have spread across occupied Palestinian territories, sparking anger among settlers only days after Israel’s energy minister boasted of “historic achievements” in the power sector.

Hebrew-language media reported a surge in abnormal events in recent weeks following a televised interview with Israel’s minister of energy and infrastructure.

The minister claimed, “Today is a historic day in the electricity sector. We have proven that in the field of energy, there is someone people can rely on.”

Yet shortly afterward, widespread blackouts lasting hours and even days, fires in electricity distribution systems, industrial disruptions, and damage to rail networks have been recorded.

The failures have fueled panic and resentment among settlers.

The latest incident in Beit Shemesh left thousands without electricity for more than a day.

A local media outlet quoted residents as saying, “People are extremely angry. Food in refrigerators is spoiling, air conditioners have shut down, and the intense heat has made staying indoors unbearable. They say our lives are paralyzed and no one takes responsibility. The return of power has been delayed again and again. Since this morning, residents have been suffering in the terrible heat without electricity.”

The problems are no longer confined to Beit Shemesh.

Similar breakdowns are now appearing across other occupied areas, including Bnei Brak and Netanya, where repeated explosions and disruptions have struck energy and industrial infrastructure.
