Iran Favors Peaceful Coexistence with All Nations: President

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – President Masoud Pezeshkian reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to peaceful coexistence with the international community, describing mutual respect and recognition of territorial integrity as essential components of global stability.

Speaking on Wednesday during a meeting with Iranian expatriates in Belarus, Pezeshkian said Iran “seeks a peaceful life with all nations,” but argued that global powers are attempting to obstruct Iran’s path toward growth and prosperity.

The president praised the role of the Iranian diaspora, described their presence in Belarus as a “blessing”, and urged them to act as ambassadors of Iranian culture and civilization.

Highlighting domestic unity as one of Iran’s greatest strengths, Pezeshkian rejected the notion that military aggression could destabilize the government. “Enemies thought that military attacks would bring people into the streets and dismantle the system, but they were mistaken,” he said.

The president reiterated Tehran’s long-standing policy of rejecting an arms race, stating that Iran’s defense doctrine is based on deterrence, not aggression. He noted that without such capabilities, Iran would face continuous bombardments similar to those endured by Palestinians in Gaza, his official website reported.

President Pezeshkian also criticized the US’ “maximum pressure” campaign, saying Washington and its allies wrongly believed that economic isolation would break the Iranian nation.

Iranian people will continue to persevere through self-reliance and resilience, he said.

Turning to the situation in Gaza, the Iranian president condemned Israeli military actions, citing reports of nearly 60,000 Palestinian deaths and widespread shortages of food and water. He described the humanitarian crisis as a tragedy marked by “heartbreaking images of starving children.”

Pezeshkian also expressed optimism about Iran’s future, envisioning the country as a prosperous and advanced nation. He also called on intellectuals and citizens alike to work together toward achieving true independence and national pride.
