Iranian President Describes National Unity as Shield against Enemies

Speaking on Monday at a ceremony marking the start of Government Week at the mausoleum of Imam Khomeini south of Tehran, Pezeshkian said unity and cohesion are essential for the nation’s success, warning that any actions undermining this unity are unacceptable.

Pointing to the US-Israeli schemes, the president said their main objective is to sow discord among Muslims in the region. He emphasized that neighboring states should be regarded as brothers, noting that while borders divide them, their shared history and heritage remain intact. These borders, he added, were imposed by imperialist powers, and Muslims must unite against common enemies.

Pezeshkian also thanked Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei for supporting the administration, saying the Leader’s guidance strengthens the government’s resolve to pursue the objectives of the Islamic Revolution and the legacy of the late Imam Khomeini.

Warning against divisive rhetoric by some figures that could harm internal cohesion and relations with neighbors, the president called such behavior a betrayal of national interests. He urged Muslims to stand together against adversaries, declaring, “If we have unity, they will not dare to confront Muslims or harbor ill intentions.”

Concluding his remarks, Pezeshkian pledged tireless efforts to improve the welfare of the people while deepening unity and cooperation at home and with Muslim neighbors.
