In a statement released on Tuesday, the Foreign Ministry expressed condolences for the Palestinians and Qatari citizens killed in the Israeli attack, describing the operation as a terrorist act and a clear demonstration of the dangerous, expansionist, and terroristic nature of the Zionist regime.
It highlighted that, alongside the ongoing killings and genocide in occupied Palestine, the attack extends the Israeli regime’s aggression across the region, posing an unprecedented threat to regional and global peace and stability.
The statement underlined that the US and other financial, military, and political backers of the Israeli regime are complicit in these crimes and must be held accountable for the regime’s repeated violations of international law.
Reaffirming Iran’s solidarity with the government and people of Qatar in the face of this brutal aggression, the Foreign Ministry called on the UN Security Council, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and other relevant international bodies to respond immediately and decisively.
The statement urged the international community and regional countries to take practical measures to contain the Zionist regime’s warmongering and halt the ongoing genocide in occupied Palestine.
The Zionist regime on Tuesday attacked Hamas’s leadership in the Qatari capital, Doha, in a strike that has drawn widespread international condemnation.
Hamas announced that five of its members were killed in the attack, including the son of senior leader Khalil al-Hayya. A member of Qatar’s security forces was also reported killed.
