In a meeting with his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon, held on the sidelines of the extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha on Monday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian underlined the positive trajectory of Iran-Tajikistan relations.
He noted that frequent high-level meetings have transformed formal diplomatic interactions into warm and constructive exchanges, emphasizing that both nations possess substantial capacities for cooperation, which, if fully realized, could benefit their people and contribute to regional stability.
Pezeshkian also addressed broader regional challenges, highlighting the malicious actions of the Israeli regime, backed by the US and certain European powers, as a source of escalating tension.
He stressed that coordinated efforts and closer collaboration between friendly nations are essential to counter such aggression and safeguard regional interests.
President Rahmon, for his part, welcomed the meeting and reiterated Tajikistan’s commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation with Iran.
He expressed his personal dedication to realizing the diverse opportunities for collaboration between the two countries and echoed Pezeshkian’s call for practical measures to address regional threats.
Rahmon further expressed satisfaction with the recent agreement between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency, underlining its importance for regional security and scientific cooperation.
The two officials finally affirmed that strengthened Iran–Tajikistan ties serve not only their national interests but also contribute to a more stable and secure region.
