Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and his Sudanese counterpart Muhi al-Din Salem Ahmed held a meeting on the sidelines of the 80th annual meeting of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Monday.

The two ministers discussed bilateral relations and the importance of expanding cooperation across key areas, including economic and trade ties, science and technology, agriculture, and mining.

The meeting also addressed the importance of greater unity and cooperation among Islamic countries to confront common threats and challenges, particularly to counter the genocide of Palestinians and the war-mongering of the Zionist regime against Islamic nations.

The Sudanese foreign minister provided an update on Sudan’s domestic situation, affirming his country’s determination to tackle insecurity and prevent foreign interference until lasting peace and stability are achieved.
