Security sources in Anbar province said that Iraqi forces apprehended Hamza al-Dulaimi, the security chief of the Daesh terrorist network, in the al-Hasura area of al-Karma, east of Fallujah.
According to the sources, al-Dulaimi was the mastermind behind Daesh’s criminal plots targeting both Iraqi security personnel and civilians, aiming to destabilize liberated regions and reignite chaos.
The detainee, described as one of the most dangerous senior leaders of the extremist cell, was arrested while carrying forged identification documents and official seals.
He has been charged under Article 4 of Iraq’s Anti-Terrorism Law for orchestrating attacks during the liberation battles against Daesh in Anbar province.
Meanwhile, PMU forces successfully secured the desert roads leading to the Arar border crossing with Saudi Arabia in western Anbar.
A security source said that PMU units cleared and reinforced routes stretching from Amiriya al-Samoud in southern Fallujah to the Arar crossing.
“The goal of this operation is to safeguard military convoys and prevent any infiltration or security breaches from hostile desert zones,” the source stated.
The source added that PMU forces have established multiple security checkpoints to monitor remnants of terrorist groups and block any attempted movement from the desert toward western Iraq’s main highways.
PMU units reportedly conduct periodic pre-emptive operations along border areas shared with Saudi Arabia to ensure the continued stability of the liberated territories.
The source confirmed that the security situation across Anbar, extending toward border crossings with Syria, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia, remains stable and under full control — a significant achievement in Iraq’s ongoing struggle to eliminate terrorist remnants supported by foreign interests hostile to its unity.
