Receiving the credentials of Indonesia’s new ambassador to Tehran, Rolliansyah Soemirat, on Tuesday, Pezeshkian highlighted that stronger cooperation and solidarity among Muslim countries can transform the Islamic world into a powerful and cohesive front.
He described the expansion of ties with Islamic nations as a central pillar of Iran’s foreign policy, stressing that the Islamic Republic regards all Muslim countries as brothers according to the teachings of Islam. “The nations of the Islamic Ummah must act as one body in the face of the enemies of the Muslim world,” he said.
Pezeshkian added that realizing this vision requires broad collaboration in fields such as science, culture, economy, politics, and security.
The president also expressed appreciation for Indonesia’s principled support for Iran in international arenas and emphasized the crucial role ambassadors play in deepening bilateral relations. He extended an invitation to his Indonesian counterpart to visit Tehran, voicing hope that such a visit would further enhance cooperation and strengthen ties between the two countries.
For his part, Soemirat conveyed his pleasure in beginning his mission in Iran, offering warm greetings from the Indonesian government and people. He congratulated both nations on the 74th anniversary of diplomatic relations and pledged to work toward closer engagement between the governments, private sectors, and people of Iran and Indonesia.
The envoy reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to global multilateralism and its determination to expand cooperation with Iran at bilateral, regional, and international levels. He also emphasized Jakarta’s continued support for the Palestinian cause and for Iran’s right to peaceful nuclear technology.
