Global Voices Demand Accountability for Israeli Regime’s Genocide in Gaza

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - As a fragile ceasefire takes hold in Gaza, social media erupts with calls for international justice against the Israeli regime, accused of genocide and systematic crimes against Palestinians after years of occupation and apartheid.

World

Social media platforms worldwide have been flooded with reactions to the newly announced ceasefire between the Israeli regime and the Hamas resistance movement.

While many expressed relief that the brutal Israeli onslaught may finally pause, activists and commentators insisted that the regime must not be allowed to evade justice for its atrocities in Gaza.

Many users demanded that those responsible for ordering and executing war crimes be prosecuted.

They emphasized that the Israeli regime should be held “accountable for decades of occupation, apartheid, and genocide.”

Assal Rad, an academic specializing in Middle East history, said the ceasefire must not shield the perpetrators of the Gaza genocide from facing justice.

Leyla Hamed, a Moroccan-Spanish journalist, urged activists to continue global protests until “the Israeli regime faces justice for its system built on Palestinian dispossession.”

Cedar Salvo, a pro-resistance activist, warned that the Zionist regime would exploit the truce to deflect attention and escape accountability, Press TV reported.

She called for a clear mechanism to monitor the regime’s compliance with the ceasefire terms.

Leanne Mohamad, a British-Palestinian human rights advocate, said the Israeli regime and its Western backers “who participated, aided and abetted this genocide, must continue to pay the price.”

Omar Gaza, another prominent online voice, stated that the truce “cannot whitewash Israeli crimes” and urged continued pressure for justice.

Filmmaker Lama Al-Arian condemned the Israeli regime for deliberately targeting journalists to silence truth.

She also condemned Western media outlets for attempting to justify and conceal those killings, demanding “media accountability now.”

Another user wrote that Israel must not be permitted to rehabilitate its global image after slaughtering thousands of civilians during its aggression on Gaza.

Writer Karim Wafa-Al Hussaini said the “Israeli regime can never be trusted” and called for full liberation of occupied territories.

The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement reiterated that “a ceasefire today will not stop Israel’s genocide against Palestinians.”

Despite announcements of a truce, Israeli attacks continued on Thursday across the besieged Gaza Strip, exposing the regime’s disregard for the agreement.

Senior Hamas official Osama Hamdan urged mediators to ensure Israel’s full compliance, warning that no prisoner exchange would proceed until a “comprehensive and unconditional ceasefire” is verified.

He reaffirmed Hamas’s demands for a complete end to the genocidal war, withdrawal of occupation forces, and governance of Gaza by independent Palestinian figures free from Israeli interference.

Hamas and the Islamic Jihad Movement both approved the deal, describing it as a product of resistance rather than compromise.

Several Asian countries, including Turkey, Pakistan, India, and Japan, welcomed the ceasefire.

China called for a lasting end to Israeli hostilities, while Iran reaffirmed its support for initiatives that stop the genocidal war and restore Palestinians’ legitimate rights.
