Speaking at the opening of the Knesset’s winter session, Netanyahu bragged about the strikes even as opposition lawmakers repeatedly interrupted his address to protest his government’s escalating war policies and refusal to halt the Gaza onslaught.
“During the ceasefire, two soldiers fell… We struck them with 153 tons of bombs and attacked dozens of targets across the Gaza Strip,” he said.
According to the Gaza government media office, the Israeli regime has committed 80 violations of the US-brokered truce since it took effect on Oct. 10. These attacks have killed 97 Palestinians — 44 of them on Sunday — and wounded 230 others.
Tel Aviv has claimed that Hamas fighters targeted its forces in Rafah, an allegation the Palestinian resistance group denied, reaffirming its adherence to the ceasefire terms.
The ceasefire agreement, announced on Oct. 10 under a plan proposed by US President Donald Trump, called for a phased exchange of hostages and prisoners, followed by the reconstruction of Gaza and the creation of a new administrative body excluding Hamas.
Since the start of the Israeli regime’s genocidal war in October 2023, more than 68,200 Palestinians have been killed and over 170,200 injured, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
