Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Baqaei described Thursday’s strikes, which killed and wounded several civilians — including students at a local school in Bekaa — as “a terrorist crime committed by the Israeli regime.”
He extended condolences to the families of the victims and the Lebanese people, urging international prosecution and punishment of the Israeli regime for its crimes.
Baqaei said the repeated violations of Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, along with the ongoing breach of the ceasefire agreement, clearly expose the “terrorist and expansionist nature of the Israeli regime.”
He added that the regime’s continued impunity stems from the United States’ full political and military support, and called on the international community and the UN Security Council to take concrete action against the regime’s lawlessness and aggression.
