Jasir Asani scored Esteghlal’s first goal in the 17th minute and Munir El Haddadi doubled the advantage in the dying moments of the first half. Aluminum halved the deficit in the 52nd minute, thanks to Rahman Jafari, who found the back of the net from the penalty spot in Tehran’s Shahr-e Qods Stadium.
Defender Reza Marzban was shown a second yellow card and was forced to leave the field in the 60th minute. Five minutes later, Alireza Koushki scored Esteghlal’s third goal.
Esteghlal moved top of the table with 16 points, two points above Chadormalou.
