Source Denies Story on US Message for Iran: Exclusive

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An informed source refuted recent media reports claiming that the United States has sent a message to Iran through the Sultanate of Oman.

Speaking to Tasnim on Saturday, the source rejected the reports about a US message for Iran, saying, “Such news is not true.”

Earlier, Iraq’s Baghdad Al-Youm had alleged that Washington had conveyed a message to Tehran via Muscat regarding the possible resumption of nuclear negotiations that have been suspended since June.

Iranian officials, while reiterating that the country remains committed to the path of diplomacy, have repeatedly emphasized that any negotiations with predetermined and one-sided results are unacceptable.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Majid Takht Ravanchi announced at a recent press conference in Oman that the US government has not shown readiness to negotiate based on the principle of equality, a situation that leaves Iran with no justification to continue talks under the current conditions.
