Source Denies Report on Araqchi’s Plan to Visit Oman

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An informed source dismissed media stories that the Iranian foreign minister is going to pay an unscheduled visit to Oman on Sunday night.

Speaking to Tasnim on Sunday, the informed source refuted a report that Abbas Araqchi will go to Oman for an unscheduled visit tonight.

Last week, Araqchi voiced Iran’s readiness for genuine and mutually beneficial negotiations with the US based on equality and respect, provided that Washington renounces its hegemonic behavior and coercive policies.

In an interview with an Internet TV channel, Araqchi stressed that as long as the US maintains its hegemonic nature and Iran continues to resist domination, the problem between the two countries will not be resolved.

However, he noted that this tension can be managed and that there is no reason to pay unnecessary costs.

Araqchi stated that Iran and the US have serious differences, most of which stem from Washington’s domineering attitude. According to him, if the US abandons its hegemonic behavior toward Iran, constructive interaction would be possible.

The foreign minister emphasized that the Iranian nation does not respond to the language of force, pressure, and sanctions, but if spoken to and treated with respect and dignity, it will reciprocate in kind.
