A pharmaceutical representative collapsed at a White House press event on Thursday as President Donald Trump and Dr. Mehmet Oz looked on, briefly halting an announcement on obesity drugs.
The incident occurred in the Oval Office as cameras captured the man appearing to lose consciousness.
“Are you OK? Gordon, you OK?” Eli Lilly CEO David Ricks asked as the attendee began to fall.
“Press out!” officials shouted as Trump stood up from the Resolute Desk and Oz rushed forward to assist.
Oz, who heads the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, knelt beside the man as others helped him to the floor.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt later said the individual, identified as a representative of one of the drug companies, suffered a fainting spell and was “okay.”
“The White House Medical Unit quickly jumped into action, and the gentleman is okay,” Leavitt said.
After a short delay, Trump resumed the press conference, telling reporters the man had become “a little bit lightheaded.”
“You saw he went down, and he’s fine,” Trump said. “We just sent him out and he’s got doctor’s care, but he’s fine.”
Initial reports online claimed the man was Gordon Findlay, an executive at Novo Nordisk, the maker of Ozempic, Rybelsus, and Wegovy.
However, the company told The Post that only CEO Mike Doustdar and Dave Moore, Executive Vice President of U.S. Operations, were present.
“We hope the gentleman who suffered a medical incident today is okay,” Novo Nordisk said in a statement.
The cause of the collapse was not immediately clear, though fainting is not unusual at White House events.
Oz, 65, faced a similar situation earlier this year when his 11-year-old granddaughter fainted during a separate press event at the White House in April.
He had recently been sworn into his current role when the child suddenly lost consciousness as Trump addressed reporters.
