Iran’s Akbarpour Wins Gold at 2025 Ju-Jitsu World Championships

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Para Ju-Jitsu athlete Mojtaba Akbarpour of Iran won a gold medal at the 2025 Ju-Jitsu World Championships.

Sports

He defeated the athletes from Russia and Brazil to win a gold medal at the 85kg weight class.

It was Iran’s first gold medal at the Para Ju-Jitsu.

The competition was held in Bangkok, Thailand, from November 1–7, 2025, at the Indoor Stadium Huamark.

The 2025 Ju-Jitsu World Championships featured participation from over 80 nations, showcasing the sport’s global growth and its inclusive vision that welcomes para-athletes, youth, and masters competitors alike.
