Lebanese media reported on Sunday that a drone belonging to the Israeli regime’s army struck a civilian vehicle on the road between al-Sawwaneh and Khirbet Selm in southern Lebanon, killing one Lebanese citizen.
The attack came as part of the Israeli regime’s continued violations of Lebanese sovereignty and repeated assaults on the country, carried out under the silence of international monitors and the inaction of Lebanon’s government.
According to reports, the Israeli regime’s drone targeted a pickup truck, killing a civilian at the scene. The strike marks yet another escalation in the regime’s ongoing campaign of aggression along the Lebanese border.
Just a day earlier, Israeli regime drones launched three separate attacks in southern Lebanon. In the first, a vehicle in the city of Bint Jbeil was struck, injuring seven Palestinian civilians. In the second, another strike targeted a car on the Rasheya al-Wadi–Shebaa road, killing two Lebanese citizens. A third drone attack hit a vehicle in the Barashit area, killing one Lebanese citizen and wounding four others.
Months into the Israeli regime’s repeated violations of the ceasefire, more than 100 Lebanese civilians have been killed or injured. Despite this ongoing bloodshed, the Lebanese government has taken no serious measures to deter these attacks, relying instead on the empty promises of American mediators — the same backers who continue to give the Israeli regime a green light for its aggression against Lebanon.
