Major General Amir Hatami made the comments during a visit to the northeastern border regions, where he inspected Army units deployed in the area —including combat battalions, bases, mobile assault brigades, engineering workshops, and ongoing construction sites for the concrete sections of the border wall.

During the visit, the Army commander reviewed the progress of the border wall construction led by the Army’s Ground Forces and was briefed on the latest developments of the project.

General Hatami hailed the border wall as a “valuable initiative” to further enhance security along Iran’s eastern borders, noting that it represents a strategic step toward resolving certain border issues with Afghanistan, which he described as a neighboring and brotherly country.

The Army chief also praised the dedicated efforts of the Ground Forces and engineering teams engaged in the construction, affirming the Army’s full support for the project and its crucial contribution to safeguarding national security.
