Speaking to Tasnim on Sunday, Ebrahim Azizi reacted to Western countries’ efforts to issue an anti-Iran resolution at the IAEA Board of Governors meeting.
He said reaction to IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi’s conduct and “malevolence” should no longer be limited to mere warnings, describing current actions by him and Western institutions as deliberate and targeted moves against Iran’s national interests.
Europe and the US must understand that the same objectives they pursued through political pressure in New York and during the period of war imposed in June —which they failed to achieve— will not be realized at the upcoming Board of Governors meeting in Vienna either, Azizi stated.
The lawmaker stressed that Iran will neither remain silent nor become passive in the face of excessive demands and unilateral measures.
Citing Iran’s decisive response regarding the suspension of cooperation with the IAEA, he said the Parliament will again adopt actions proportionate to the country’s national and security interests in response to the UN nuclear agency’s malicious efforts and the blatant political maneuvering of its Western supporters.
