General Hossein Ma’roufi, the deputy commander of Basij for coordination, announced at a press conference on Tuesday that the Basij would introduce new-generation drones, water desalination systems, and electricity-consumption optimization devices as part of its technological accomplishments on the occasion of Basij Week.
He noted that Iran has achieved significant deterrence in the missile and drone sectors, adding that this was demonstrated during the 12-day war imposed by the Zionist regime and the US in June.
The general stated that national security is the red line of the Iranian people and that the Basij stands ready to sacrifice itself whenever necessary to protect the nation.
Basij has always been, and continues to be, an active arm for solving people’s problems under every administration, the commander stated.
Basij is a paramilitary voluntary force established in 1979 on Imam Khomeini's order.
The force consists of often young Iranians, who have volunteered, with a strong sense of fidelity to both the Islamic system and religious beliefs.
