Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Larijani held a meeting with Pakistani Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar in Islamabad on Tuesday.
The two officials reviewed the latest significant regional developments and the need for collective action by the Islamic countries to confront shared challenges.
They both agreed that the Islamic world requires practical measures, broad coordination, and cohesive cooperation to address the regional crises, particularly in combating the threat posed by the Zionist regime against the Muslim nations.
They also identified Palestine as one of the central pillars of cooperation in the Islamic world and stressed the need for unity, convergence, and focused coordination between Tehran and Islamabad in supporting the Palestinian nation.
Highlighting the longstanding ties between Iran and Pakistan, Larijani described the upgrading of bilateral relations to a strategic level as a necessity.
He stated that the economic capacities of the two neighbors can operate far beyond their current level. Larijani also called for the removal of existing obstacles and the facilitation of economic interactions, considering the goal of increasing the annual bilateral trade to $10 billion.
The two officials expressed readiness to continue regular consultations and to pursue practical implementation of the joint agreements.
