Iran, Pakistan Discuss Closer Security Cooperation in High-Level Meeting

In a meeting held in Rawalpindi on November 26, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani and Pakistan’s Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir weighed plans to enhance defense and security collaboration between the two countries.
They also talked about the shifting regional dynamics and explored the ways to reinforce the strategic partnership between the two neighboring countries.
Field Marshal Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and stability, stressing that strengthened cooperation with Iran is essential for countering terrorism and responding effectively to emerging geopolitical realities.
He also underscored the growing need for sustained and institutionalized security coordination between Islamabad and Tehran.
Larijani, for his part, praised Pakistan’s pivotal role in promoting stability across the region and voiced Tehran’s readiness to expand strategic ties.
He also highlighted the importance of continuous dialogue and joint initiatives to confront shared challenges, emphasizing that closer Iran-Pakistan cooperation is key to ensuring lasting regional stability.
