Iran Condemns Attacks on Iraqi Kurdistan Region Gas Fields

He stated that Iran “categorically condemns” assaults on the region’s gas infrastructure and fully supports any coordinated effort with Iraqi authorities to safeguard these sites.

He added that Tehran believes certain regional actors are deliberately fueling insecurity, emphasizing that “the Zionist regime spares no instrument in spreading instability.”

In a related development, the spokesman dismissed speculation that Iran had received warnings over US fighter jet activity in Iraq or over regional tensions.

He said discussions with Turkey and Saudi Arabia focused on broader international developments, but “crimes committed by the Zionist regime and its warmongering behavior” are a constant topic in diplomatic exchanges.

He stressed that any renewed talk of conflict stems from the nature of the Israeli regime, describing it as an entity built on manufacturing crises.

For eight decades, he said, the Zionist regime has injected instability into its surroundings, and regional states broadly share concerns about the threats posed by Israel.

He noted that Iran remains fully prepared for any scenario, citing the country’s past record of national defense, and declared that Tehran will not allow the Israeli regime’s “fantasies” to materialize.

Separately, he criticized Israel’s repeated violations of the Lebanon ceasefire, saying it is “well known” that Israel enters ceasefires only to breach them.

He referenced United Nations reporting that documented more than 10,000 ceasefire violations, arguing that in practical terms, “no ceasefire exists at all.”

He said Israel does not honor its commitments and uses these periods merely to escalate attacks inside Lebanon, targeting civilians and undermining the country’s development.

This situation, he added, increases the responsibilities of ceasefire guarantors, none of whom have taken meaningful action.

Meanwhile, responding to claims of Lebanese public protest against Iran, the spokesman rejected accusations of Iranian interference, calling such suggestions meaningless.

“Lebanon’s issues belong to the Lebanese themselves,” he said, adding that Iran fully understands the conditions faced by the country.

He reiterated that Lebanon is subjected to continuous Israeli attacks, and Iran supports Lebanon’s inherent right to self-defense—an essential principle for any sovereign state.

He added that the real external meddlers in Lebanon are those attempting to impose deadlines or conditions on the Lebanese political landscape.

He concluded that Iran has consistently demonstrated its commitment to friendship and support for the Lebanese people.
