Israeli Regime Launches Raids in Jenin, Damaging 700+ Homes

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israeli forces on Monday launched major raids in Jenin city and the surrounding refugee camp, extending a 315-day military campaign marked by home demolitions, displacement and heavy damage to civilian infrastructure.

The Israeli regime pushed deeper into residential districts using bulldozers and armored units, forcing residents out of neighborhoods including Cabiriyyat and areas bordering the camp.

Local authorities said 24 more houses were destroyed inside the Jenin refugee camp, putting the total number of structures partially or fully damaged at more than 700 since the assault began.

Dozens of additional homes were razed or heavily damaged citywide, displacing thousands and worsening an already acute humanitarian crisis.

In the village of Sile ed-Zuhr, families were issued demolition notices, raising alarms of further mass expulsions.

Israeli operations also escalated simultaneously in nearby towns.

Qibatiya saw the detention of a young man, while civilians were questioned by deployed infantry.

The town of Ya'bed, under military siege for close to one month, has had private houses repurposed as army outposts.

In Bir el-Basha and Sile el-Harithiyye, forces carried out home searches backed by tear gas and stun grenades, with residents reporting asphyxia and psychological trauma.

"The assault on Jenin is part of a wider effort to fracture the region and seal it off from the rest of the West Bank," local officials said.

Since the offensive began 316 days ago, 69 Palestinians have been killed in Jenin and outlying villages, including four shot dead by Palestinian Authority security during internal clashes.

"This operation targets the fabric of life in the refugee camp," a community leader said.

"It is designed to make it impossible for families to remain on their land," he added.

In a related development, community leaders warned the campaign increasingly resembles deliberate slow-motion displacement, aimed at making the refugee camp unviable to inhabit.

Palestinian civil society groups denounced "a perilous global silence," saying the absence of accountability has encouraged Israel’s intensifying raids.

"Israel’s aggression has only expanded under international impunity," one activist said.

"The lack of response is a green light for more destruction," he added.

Meanwhile, families left homeless by repeated demolitions appealed for immediate aid and international protection, with many now sheltering in overcrowded or unsafe conditions.

As Israeli raids persist without pause, Jenin remains one of the longest and most damaging flashpoints in the West Bank in recent years, underscoring the severity of the ongoing offensive.
