Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty held a telephone conversation on Saturday to discuss the bilateral relations and pressing regional issues.

The two senior diplomats reviewed the state of Iran-Egypt ties and agreed to continue their talks with the goal of strengthening political engagement between the two countries.

They also exchanged views on the latest regional developments, focusing in particular on the escalating situation in Lebanon and Gaza amid continued Israeli aggression and repeated ceasefire violations.

Araqchi and Abdelatty underscored the urgent need for the international community to intervene and put an end to the Zionist regime’s ongoing crimes.

The discussion additionally touched on Iran’s nuclear file, with Araqchi presenting Tehran’s positions and perspectives on the matter.
