Veselin Matic Named Iran’s Youth Basketball Teams Coach

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Serbian Veselin Matic was appointed as the coach of Iran’s youth basketball teams following a decision by the Iranian basketball’s Technical Committee.

Sports

Matic was head coach of the Iran national basketball team from 2009 to 2011. During his tenure, Iran won the 2009 FIBA Asia Championship, competed at the 2010 FIBA World Cup in Turkey, earned the bronze medal at the 2010 Asian Games, and won the 2011 West Asian Championship.

During the latest meeting of the federation’s Technical Committee, members discussed development plans for the youth sector and Matic was selected as the final choice to lead and oversee Iran’s youth teams.
