He also voiced Iran’s readiness to expand cooperation with the Republic of Azerbaijan in various fields, including the economic, trade, security, tourism, energy, transportation and cultural sectors.
Gafarova, for her part, pointed to the positive trajectory of bilateral ties, saying that designing and implementing joint economic projects and strengthening people-to-people exchanges in economic and cultural spheres are crucial for bolstering relations.
She also expressed the readiness of Azerbaijan’s National Assembly to enhance cooperation with Iran’s Parliament.
During the meeting, also attended by the head and several members of the Iran–Azerbaijan parliamentary friendship group, the two sides discussed ways to broaden interactions between the neighboring states, particularly through more effective use of their parliaments’ capacities and by increasing consultations and contacts between specialized or counterpart commissions and parliamentary friendship groups.
