The third meeting of the trilateral committee of Iran, Saudi Arabia, and China -established to follow up on the Beijing Agreement- was held on December 9 in Tehran.
The session was chaired by Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Majid Takht Ravanchi, and attended by Saudi Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Waleed Al-Khuraiji and Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu.
The Iranian and Saudi sides reaffirmed their commitment to implementing all provisions of the Beijing Agreement and to continued efforts to strengthen neighborly relations through adherence to the UN Charter, the Charter of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and international law, including respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity, independence, and the security of both parties.
Iran and Saudi Arabia also welcomed the continued positive role of the People’s Republic of China and emphasized the importance of Beijing’s support for implementation of the agreement.
China underscored its readiness to continue supporting and encouraging the steps taken by Iran and Saudi Arabia to develop their relations across various fields.
All three countries welcomed the ongoing progress in Iran-Saudi relations and the emerging opportunities for direct interaction between the two sides at all levels and in all sectors. They also stressed the significance of such contacts and reciprocal visits between senior officials of both countries, particularly in light of current and escalating regional tensions that threaten regional and global security.
The three parties also welcomed advancements in consular services between the two countries, which have facilitated the safe and smooth travel of more than 85,000 Iranian pilgrims for Hajj and over 210,000 Iranians for Umrah in 2025.
The three sides further expressed satisfaction with progress in dialogue between Iranian and Saudi institutions and individuals in research, education, media, cultural, and academic fields, as well as the exchange of delegations and participation in related events.
The three countries expressed their eagerness to expand cooperation in various areas, including diverse economic and political fields. They also emphasized the importance of dialogue and cooperation among regional countries with the aim of enhancing security, stability, peace, and economic development.
Iran, China, and Saudi Arabia called for the immediate cessation of Israeli aggression against Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria, and condemned acts of aggression and violations of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Iran expressed appreciation for the clear positions taken by Saudi Arabia and China during the aforementioned attacks.
The three countries finally reaffirmed their support for an inclusive political solution in Yemen based on internationally recognized principles and under the supervision of the United Nations.
