At the conclusion of the third trilateral meeting of Iran, China, and Saudi Arabia, held in Tehran on December 9, Saudi Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Waleed Al-Khuraiji and Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu held talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi.
In the meeting, Araqchi expressed appreciation for China’s constructive approach to regional issues in West Asia. He underscored Iran’s commitment to strengthening relations with neighboring countries, including Saudi Arabia, on the basis of the policy of good-neighborliness.
The top Iranian diplomat also referred to the growing trajectory of relations between Tehran and Riyadh across various areas of mutual interest and to the consultations between the two countries, particularly at the ministerial level.
Araqchi also described China’s role in reinforcing international peace and stability, in assisting the preservation of multilateralism and the rule of law, and in strengthening cooperation among the developing world as highly significant. He stated that Iran and China are determined to utilize all existing capacities to expand their bilateral relations, the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s website reported.
Araqchi considered the maintenance of sustainable stability and security in the region to be contingent upon the cooperation of all regional States. He stated that Iran seeks a strong and stable region free from the destructive interventions of certain extra-regional powers.
The heads of the delegations of China and Saudi Arabia hailed Iran for hosting the third trilateral meeting, emphasizing their respective countries’ resolve to expand relations with Iran in all fields.
