Zahra Pouladi in the girls’ 41kg won the gold with a lift of 70kg.
Uzbekistan’s Tursinay Urakbaeva and Ugiljon Zarifova won the silver and bronze medals with 55kg and 45kg, respectively.
Mahdiyeh Ehsani also seized a gold in the girls’ 45kg, lifting 59kg in her best effort. Uzbekistan’s Sultonposhsha Bardieva and Saudi Arabia’s Fajer Abdullah Alsmry camed second and third with 55kg.
Amir Ali Rashidi claimed Iran’s third gold in the Games, lifting 129kg in the boys’ 49kg. Saudi Arabia’s Talal Albalawi (124kg) and Abdullokh Abdulazizov of Uzbekistan (120kg) won the silver and bronze medals.
And Mohammad Javad Nasiri Moghaddam took a silver in the boys’ 54kg. He finished in second place with his best effort of 115kg. Mongolian powerlifter Jigmed Davaa-Ochir won the gold with 146kg and Kazakhstan’s Kuanysh Rakhatuly claimed the broze medal with 107kg.
The fifth edition of the 2025 Asian Youth Para Games is being held in Dubai from December 10-13.
