President Highlights Push for Renewable Energy Development in Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The administration has launched an unprecedented drive to expand renewable and clean energy production in Iran, President Masoud Pezeshkian said.

Speaking at a meeting on managing energy supply and consumption, held in Tehran on Sunday, the president said the measures being implemented by his administration to develop clean energy have no parallel in previous periods.

Pezeshkian said he has personally devoted numerous meetings to monitoring and accelerating that approach.

The president underlined, however, that until the objectives set for new and renewable energies are fully realized, managing energy imbalances remains an unavoidable necessity.

This is essential to prevent damage to the environment, avoid gas and electricity outages for people during the winter, and ensure that fuel supply to the production and industrial sectors is not disrupted, he added.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Pezeshkian said the administration’s foremost priority is to maintain stability in energy supply and continuously strengthen reserves, so that the cold season can be passed without even the slightest problem for the public.
