Israeli Police Detain Palestinian Man Over Defiant Act in Ramla

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A young Palestinian from Jerusalem al-Quds carried out an act of defiance by burning the flag of the Israeli regime in the occupied city of Ramla, prompting a swift and forceful response from Israeli police, according to Hebrew media reports.

The Hebrew-language outlet Srugim reported that Israeli police arrested a man in his early twenties over the incident, which took place last week in areas occupied since 1948.

According to the report, the young man, a resident of East Jerusalem al-Quds, was detained after allegedly setting fire to the Israeli regime’s flag outside a shop in Ramla, an act that reportedly infuriated Zionist circles.

The outlet published a video of the incident and said the suspect was brought before a court on Monday, where a judge reviewed a request to extend his detention.

Meanwhile, Israeli police said the man was identified and pursued after footage of the incident circulated widely on social media platforms.

Separately, police acknowledged using a range of security and surveillance tools to track down the Palestinian youth and carry out his arrest, underscoring the heavy-handed response to a symbolic act of resistance.
