Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi made the remarks during a visit to the Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters on Monday.

He stressed the need for further upgrading the country’s air defense power, saying the day-by-day, ongoing and permanent improvement of Iran’s air defense capabilities stands high on the national agenda.

The senior commander noted that the air defense forces have, in recent months, carried out very major and noteworthy measures to enhance the country’s air defense capacity, adding that these achievements have been made through sacrifice, dedication and selflessness, as well as by drawing on knowledge, expertise and high motivation.

The general said the air defense forces of the Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps constitute powerful, reliable and valuable arms that can assist the Air Defense Headquarters in advancing new strategies and objectives.

By improving quantitative and qualitative capacities, utilizing modern and up-to-date systems, and relying on committed, brave and efficient manpower, the air defense units play a fundamental role in strengthening the defensive shield of the integrated air defense network and ensuring successful confrontation with threats, the top commander stated.
