Israeli Regime Breaches Gaza Ceasefire As Attacks Hit Khan Younis

Israeli occupation forces intensified strikes from land, air and sea early on Friday, targeting eastern areas of Khan Younis after once again breaking the truce, the sources said.

Palestinian sources said the Israeli regime expanded its attacks into the so-called “Yellow Line” area, particularly Bani Suheila east of Khan Younis, zones from which occupation forces were supposed to withdraw under the ceasefire agreement.

Meanwhile, Al-Aqsa television reported that Israeli naval warships shelled coastal areas east of Khan Younis, attacks that killed three Palestinians, including a woman.

Separate reports indicated that Israeli air strikes also hit the central Gaza city of Deir al-Balah and the Shujaiya neighborhood east of Gaza City, sending columns of smoke into the sky over the bombed areas.

The fresh aggression comes amid continued violations of the ceasefire, as Israeli occupation forces persist in targeting civilian areas and opening fire on Palestinian residents.

In this context, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza said on Thursday that ceasefire violations by the Israeli regime had killed 395 Palestinians and wounded 1,088 others.

The ministry added that the total death toll from Israeli regime attacks on the Gaza Strip since October, 2023, had reached 70,669, with 171,165 people wounded.

Beyond the human toll, the Israeli regime’s genocidal war has caused widespread destruction across Gaza, with around 90% of the territory’s infrastructure destroyed, and the United Nations estimating reconstruction costs at about $70 billion.
