Speaking to Tasnim, Abbas Goudarzi referred to the recent statements made by Rubio, which included claims about what he called Iran’s “support for terrorism”, alleged military objectives in Iran’s nuclear program, and interventionist remarks about Iran’s internal affairs.

The MP said it was extremely “ridiculous and regrettable” that the US government, whose hands are stained with the blood of innocent people, and which has carried out killings in various parts of the world --even in seas and in Latin American countries-- under false and fabricated pretexts, now claims to be fighting terrorism and showing concern for the Iranian nation.

Goudarzi added that the very foundation of the Zionist regime was based on violations of human rights and the establishment of terrorism in the region, stressing that all the crimes committed by Israel are carried out with the direction, support, and full backing of the United States.

Highlighting the position of the resistance front in the world, the spokesman said that Iran considers support for the resistance front a strategic duty and obligation, noting that historical experience has shown that any country that has retreated from resistance against the US has quickly fallen victim to its pressures, threats, and blows.

He further stated that one of the main components of the Iranian nation’s resistance is the country’s defensive, air defense, and missile power, which has made the enemy regret any act of aggression against Iran. He warned that the enemies seek to deprive Iran of these capabilities so that they can easily dominate the country.
