Tehran, Abu Dhabi Discuss Yemen, Stress Its Territorial Integrity

In a telephone conversation on Sunday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and his Emirati counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan reviewed bilateral relations and the regional developments.

The two foreign ministers expressed satisfaction with the growing relations between the two countries and emphasized the pursuit of issues of mutual interest.

Referring to recent developments in southern Yemen, Araqchi called for efforts by all regional countries to preserve Yemen’s unity and territorial integrity and to realize the legitimate demands of the Yemeni people.

He added that Iran considers the solution to the Yemen crisis to be Yemeni-Yemeni dialogue centered on the country’s unity and territorial integrity.

The Emirati foreign minister, for his part, stressed the necessity of preserving peace and stability in Yemen and the region, and explained the UAE’s measures aimed at reducing tensions in Yemen.

The two diplomats also emphasized the need for regional countries to make serious efforts to consolidate stability in Yemen and safeguard peace in the region.
