Tehran’s main squares and streets, including Vali Asr Square, Enghelab Square, Azadi Avenue, and Ferdowsi Square, witnessed a calm evening with no signs of unrest following Thursday night’s disturbances.
Tasnim reported that similar conditions prevailed in the majority of Tehran’s neighborhoods.
However, some areas in the eastern parts of the capital experienced isolated incidents of unrest. Nonetheless, the situation in those areas was markedly different from the previous night.
Thursday night’s events in certain districts, Tasnim said, had signs of terrorist operations with infiltrators posing as protesters. These operations reportedly involved gunfire from operatives targeting attendees and setting public and private properties, including banks and medical facilities, on fire.
Security forces have reiterated in separate statements that they will show no leniency in the face of violent rioters and armed terrorists and will take necessary measures to protect the lives and property of Iranian citizens.
