President: Iranian Army Ensures Regional Stability

“The neighbors should know that today, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Army and the other armed forces are supporters of stability and security across the whole region,” Rouhani said, addressing Iranian military units during a military ceremony to mark the country’s National Army Day on Friday.

Addressing a huge gathering of Iranian armed forces south of Tehran, President Rouhani described the country’s Army as the “harbor” of stability in the region.

The president underlined that the Iranian armed forces ensure stability in the whole Middle East region, which he said is gripped by tensions these days.

Rouhani also pointed to the country’s diplomatic interaction with the world, stressing that the Iranian armed forces’ might is a contributing factor in the political arena.

Pointing to the nuclear negotiations between Tehran and the six major world powers, the president made it clear that the Iranian armed forces’ unwavering supports have enabled the negotiators and diplomats to defend the country’s national interests steadfastly.

Following President Rouhani’s speech, different units of the Iranian Army held massive military parades to mark the National Army Day.

The ceremony was held at the mausoleum of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini, south of Tehran.
