Jalil Bagheri Named Iran’s Flag-bearer in Asian Para Games
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Paralympic gold medalist Jalil Bagheri Jeddi has been selected as the flag-bearer for Iran at the 2014 Asian Para Games’s opening ceremony.
Shot putter Jalil Bagheri Jeddi won Iran’s first gold medal at the London Paralympics.
The 2nd Asian Para Games will be held in in Incheon, South Korea from October 18 to 24.
Iran will also take part in the 2014 Asian Para Games under the name of ‘Ghadir’, head of Iran’s National Paralympic Committee, Mahmoud Khosravivafa said.
This year’s Asian Para Games will feature a total of 23 sports with some 5,000 athletes and officials expected to converge and compete in the Games.
In the last Games in Guangzhou in 2010, a number of 19 sports were contested.
