Car Bomb Wounds 5 Afghan Soldiers
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - A car bomb rocked Taliban former stronghold the southern Kandahar province on Saturday, injuring five Afghan soldiers, an army commander General Abdul Hamid Hamid said.
"The terrorists organized a car bomb next to Azizullah national army base in Maiwand district at around 8:00 am local time today wounding five soldiers," Hamid told Xinhua.
He said investigation has been initiated to determine whether the blast was a suicide car bomb attack or remote-controlled one.
Militancy and security incidents have been on the rise since Taliban launched the so-called spring offensive on May 12 in Afghanistan.
