Vietnamese Parliamentary Mission to Pay Visit to Tehran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A delegation of Vietnamese lawmakers is scheduled to pay a visit to Iran by the next few weeks, head of Iran-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group said.

Hossein Sobhaninia  said that the Vietnamese delegation will meet with a number of Iranian officials during the trip.

He referred to the long-standing diplomatic ties between Iran and Hanoi, and stressed that parliamentary diplomacy can lead to the enhancement of relations between the two countries, Iranian parliament’s news agency (ICANA) reported.

Sobhaninia also stressed that development of economic, parliamentary and political cooperation with countries in South East Asia is among top priorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s foreign policy.

Political and economic ties between Tehran and Hanoi have significantly expanded over the past several years.

In November 2012, the then Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad travelled to Vietnam for a two-day official visit, where he stressed the determination of both Tehran and Hanoi to enhance their bilateral cooperation in all areas.
