IRGC Vows Crushing Response to "Enemies' Miscalculations"
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) underlined its readiness to respond decisively to any threats posed by Iran's enemies.
“Relying on the strategic lessons from the Sacred Defense era and new experiences gained from confrontation with threats posed by ultra-regional powers…, the IRGC monitors the enemies’ moves in nearby and faraway regions …and will give crushing response to any miscalculations by them,” the IRGC said in a statement on the occasion of the Sacred Defense Week, which marks the onset of the Iraqi imposed war on Iran (1980-1988).
The statement highlighted the country’s effective deterrence power and its full preparedness for warding off any threats decisively and promptly thanks to the strategic experiences gained during the 8-year Sacred Defense era.
It went on to underline the need for efforts to introduce the different aspects and dimensions of the Iranian nation’s "Holy Defense."
Sacred Defense Week begins on Shahrivar 31 in the Iranian calendar (September 22 this year), which is the day Iraq invaded Iran and began the imposed war on the country back in 1980.
Each year, Iranian Armed Forces hold nationwide military parades to mark the week, during which the country’s latest defensive achievements are put on display.
