Iran’s Cyclist Godarzi Takes Silver in Asiad

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iranian cyclist Arvin Moazami Godarzi on Sunday claimed a silver medal in the men's road race in the 2014 Asian Games underway in South Korea.

After racing 13 laps of the 14-kilometer road track of the Songdo Road Cycling Course for a total 182 km in the port city, Godarzi claimed the silver medal after clocking 4:07:52

South Korean cyclist Jang Kyung-gu won the gold medal with 4:07:52.

Bronze medal went to Hong Kong's Leung Chun Wing with a time of 4:08:51.

Some 9,500 athletes from 45 countries are competing at the Games, the world's second-biggest multi-sport event after the summer Olympics, with 439 gold medals in 36 sports up for grabs.

Iran has participated in the games with 276 athletes in 22 sports.
