Spokeswoman Calls Leader’s Message another Aspect of Iran’s Diplomacy

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Spokeswoman for Iran’s foreign ministry on Wednesday described the recent message sent by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution to Western youths as another aspect of the country’s diplomacy, adding that it has received wide international coverage.

Last week, Ayatollah Khamenei wrote a letter asking the European and North American youths not to judge Islam based on the recent terrorist attacks in Paris.

In his letter, Imam Khamenei asked Western youths to try to gain a direct and firsthand knowledge of the religion in reaction to the flood of prejudgments and disinformation campaigns.

“Don’t allow them to hypocritically introduce their own recruited terrorists as representatives of Islam,” Ayatollah Khamenei stressed.

Speaking in her weekly press conference in Tehran Marziyeh Afkham pointed to the letter, and said, “The message was another aspect of Iran’s diplomacy."

Afkham described the message as "novel, innovative, and impressive", and said that it is another part of Iran's attitude towards global issues and future trends of development.

The spokeswoman, meantime, said the message has received wide international coverage.

She said Iran's embassies in other countries were assigned to pursue its further distribution and expressed the hope that the message would reache its main audiences.
