Iran’s Dabiri Beats Bank of Beirut SC in AFC Futsal Club C'ship

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iranian champion Dabiri Tabriz started the 5th AFC Futsal Club Championship with a 5-1 victory over Bank of Beirut SC in the Group B tie at Sichuan Football Stadium, Chengdu, China on Monday.

Javad Asghari, Vahid Shafiei, Farid Namazi, Farhad Fakhim and Nasrollah Momen were on target for the Iranian and Ali Tneich pulled a goal back for the Lebanese club.

“In every tournament, winning the opening match is very important as the players are not yet fully adjusted to the conditions of the tournament – so for the first match this result was very good and I’m happy,” Dabiri coach Hossein Shams told the-afc.com.

“The first half we started a bit slow as we were still adapting to the game, but in the second-half I think the Lebanese team struggled with their fitness a little bit, while my team was ready for the full 40 minutes,” he added.

The Iranian outfit will play Al Qadsia of Kuwait and Chonburi Blue Wave of Thailand on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.

Group A consists of Shenzhen Nanling of China, Japanese Nagoya Oceans, Lokomotiv Tashkent of Uzbekistan and Australian Vic Vipers.

The Iranian teams Foolad Mahan and Giti Pasand Isfahan have won two titles in the competitions.
