World Wrestling Championships: Esmaeilpour Wins Silver
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran’s Masoud Esmaeilpour won a silver medal in the men's freestyle 61kg of the 2014 World Wrestling Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on Tuesday.
Esmaeilpour defeated Mykola Bolotnjuk from Slovakia 6-0 in the first round.
The Iranian freestyle wrestler then defeated Mongolian Enkhsaikhany Nyam-Ochir 7-0.
Esmaeilpour beat Bulgarian Vladimir Dubov 12-1. He booked a place in the final match after beating Artas Sanaa from Kazakhstan 10-0.
In the final match, he lost to Azerbaijan’s Haji Aliyev 12-7 and claimed a silver medal.
The 2014 World Wrestling Championships started on September 8 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan and will finish on September 14.
