Funeral Held for Bahraini Man Killed by Tear Gas Inhalation

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Hundreds of Bahraini people attended the funeral of Mohammad Saleh Kazem, who died after inhaling tear gas fired by regime forces in the residential areas.

The funeral was held at the village of Saar, west of capital Manama, on Friday.

The family of the deceased said Mohammad had to stay at home all the time because he was handicapped.

Mohamamd was choked to death after inhaling tear gas that the Al Khalifa forces had used in the residential area in revenge for the anti-regime protests, his family noted.

Since 2011, when an uprising against the ruling regime broke out across the Persian Gulf kingdom, there have several cases of miscarriage and spontaneous abortion because of tear gas inhalation.

According to reports, the Bahraini security forces routinely use excessive and undisciplined force in the residential areas, fire tear gas canisters and sound bombs to intimidate the residents, and subject them to collective punishment.

The Arab nations has been the site of simmering protests since senior Shiite opposition leader Sheikh Ali Salman was arrested on December 28, 2014, on charges of seeking regime change and collaborating with foreign powers. The Shiite cleric has denied the accusations.
